Congratulations to the following students of Brooklyn City Schools: Evan Chong (grade 8), Desiree Gailes (grade 6), Joanne Tran (Grade 5), Angela Tran (grade 3), and Matija Zuvic (grade1) for having their artwork selected to be part of a special exhibit to celebrate Youth Art Month.
Angela, Matija, and Evan's artwork were chosen to be part of the Case Western Reserve University Youth Art Month Exhibit sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association. Desiree’s artwork was chosen to be part of the Young People’s Art Exhibition that is currently on display at Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus, Ohio. Joanne had her artwork selected to be part of the 38th annual Youth Art Month Exhibit currently showing at the State Teacher’s Retirement Systems (STRS) building in Columbus. The Ohio Art Education Association is the professional organization for art teachers in Ohio.
Works from across the Northeast region will be included in the show, which begins March 5th. A closing reception and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 18th. The exhibit will be held at the Case Western Reserve University Art Gallery.
The Ohio Art Education Association is the professional organization for art teachers in Ohio and sponsors the exhibits in Columbus. Both exhibits will be on display from February 17th until March 16th.
Youth Art Month is a national observance held annually in March to emphasize the value of Art Education for all children, encourage support for quality school Art programs, and promote Art material safety.
Marcie Lowell, art educator at Brooklyn Elementary, Intermediate, and High School, submitted the artwork for the show.
