The Issue 58 ballot issue recount occurred on December 5, 2017 at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. Unfortunately, the result of a 2-vote loss was confirmed by the recount.
This means that the final levy tally was:

As it stands now, our permanent improvement renewal that originated in 1972 is taken off the tax schedule as of January 1, 2018 and the district loses $138,000 in permanent improvement revenue. That will mean future maintenance costs will need to be taken from general fund dollars when our permanent improvement dollars are exhausted. In the long term that will have a negative impact on instruction and educational programming.
The Board of Education will be meeting soon to decide next steps on how to proceed with a future permanent improvement levy as well as an operating levy that expires in 2018. Thank you to all who voted and had a hand in helping in this campaign.
