Dear Brooklyn Elementary Families,
As the end of the school year approaches, many activities take place in the elementary school. Third graders will continue with Ohio's state assessments in the area of Mathematics the week of April 23rd. Please be sure students are well-rested, have a good breakfast, and arrive on time.
Mark your calendars for Saturday,May 5th, for the annual Bike Rodeo & Touch-a-Truck event at the Brooklyn City Schools campus from 9-11 a.m. Come out and meet many of our local safety forces, explore some interesting vehicles, practice your bike safety skills, pick up a new bike helmet, and perhaps win a raffle or two! There will be a D.J. and a good time is sure to be had by all!
The week of May 7th is staff and faculty appreciation week. Brooklyn Elementary PTA will be honoring teachers and staff thoughout the week. You can always find out what's going on at school by attending a PTA meeting. The next meeting will be on May 3rd. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. in room 173 of the high school.
May 9th is a Late Start day for students due to staff professional development. Classes start at 10 a.m.. and students may arrive starting at 9:30 a.m. by reporting to the cafeteria.
Memorial Day (NO SCHOOL) will be observed on May 28th with classes resuming Tuesday, May 29th.
Our annual Field Day for students in Preschool to grade 3 will be held on Wednesday, May 30th. More information and volunteer forms will be coming home soon.
Also, please do not forget about our fundraiser, SchoolStore.com, which has been running all year long. The fundraiser is simple...shop on line and proceeds from your purchase come back to the school. Students can win prizes along the way, too!
The 2017-2018 school year comes to a close with the students' last day on Friday, June 1st.
More information as well as the full school calendar for next year can be found on the Brooklyn City Schools website.
Yours in education,
