Welcome to the Brooklyn City School District!
Brooklyn City School District is a thriving educational community that has approximately 1400 students and about 170 teachers, administrators, and classified staff. Our students are afforded opportunities to participate in a standards-based curriculum, a variety of athletic options, and a wonderful visual arts and musical program from kindergarten through twelfth grade. We are fortunate to have all of our students located in one campus connected to the Central Office.
Our students in preschool through third grade attend Brooklyn Elementary School. As part of their programming, students celebrate learning with special events like Right to Read Week, Field Day, Walking Wednesdays, Bike Rodeo, Digital Learning Day, and many more.
Students in grades four through seven attend Brooklyn Intermediate School. Student achievement, athletic skill development and competition, as well as a thriving visual art, instrumental and music program are a central part of our intermediate school culture. Students are challenged in their classrooms and encouraged to get involved in Hurricane Café, Student Council, and National Junior Honor Society. There are always social activities planned for students who continually strive to "do the right thing and make the right choices!”
Students in grades eight through twelve are enrolled at Brooklyn High School. Our school has been recognized at the Ohio Department of Education as a “School of Promise” and affords our students the opportunity to participate in college prep classes, the Polaris Career Center, and a variety of post-secondary options. Students can study Spanish and Chinese; enroll in art classes, tech classes, while still being challenged in honors and AP options. Students have options for online study as well as in person. Athletics and the arts are available for students. The spring musical is a community favorite as well as homecoming, the prom and especially graduation day!
