Last night at its regular meeting, the Brooklyn Board of Education voted to approve a contract to Mrs. Michelle Mrakovich-Kalish as the district Assistant Superintendent. This position replaces the role of Director of Professional Development and Assessment, which was held by Mrs. Lori Bobincheck. Mrs. Bobincheck resigned the position due to another opportunity in another school district. The Assistant Superintendent role broadens the responsibilities of this role beyond curriculum and instruction.
Mrs. Mrakovich-Kalish is currently the Superintendent of Newbury Schools in Geauga County. Prior to being superintendent, she held positions of high school principal in Newbury as well as a teacher in both the Nordonia Hills and Mayfield City School Districts.
“It is difficult to say goodbye to Lori Bobincheck because of her years of service to Brooklyn. She has been a great employee and advocate for Brooklyn students for a long time. We will all miss her greatly,” Dr. Gleichauf said.
Gleichauf added, “This new assistant superintendent position allows us to widen the responsibilities for this role, which is crucial in a small district like Brooklyn where you are asked to do many different tasks and jobs.”
