On Friday, September 7, 2018, students at all grade levels participated in a spirited pep rally at Brooklyn Stadium to recognize student-athletes of all fall sports and organizations. While simultaneously practicing a soft evacuation drill, students at The Brooklyn School followed high school students who were dismissed from the buildings, to walk through the neighborhood to Hurricane Alley and directly into Brooklyn Stadium. The Brooklyn City Schools would like to thank the Brooklyn Police Department for their partnership and close oversight of students who walked in route from the campus to the home bleachers of Brooklyn Stadium. Once there, the entire student body was entertained by the high school marching band who uplifted the crowd with spirited tunes and the District’s alma mater. Athletic Director Jim Verba then took time to introduce all student-athletes from grades 7 through 12 in a team-by-team fashion. Cheerleaders and members of the band were introduced as well. In all, this student body pep rally demonstrated strong support for our teams and organizations while showing off some good, old fashioned Hurricane Pride!
