Senior citizens in the Brooklyn community were invited to the auditorium of Brooklyn High School earlier this week for a preview performance of Willy Wonka, which opens to the community this weekend. A complimentary breakfast was provided for these special members of our community that included fresh fruit, coffee, pastries and more. While senior citizens enjoyed their meal, Superintendent Dr. Mark Gleichauf welcomed the guests and shared introductory remarks. Some of the students performing in the play mingled with the senior citizens and introduced themselves. After breakfast, senior citizens were then invited to watch a preview of the High School’s performance of Willy Wonka, along with other elementary students from Brooklyn School. In all, this was a wonderful intergenerational gathering of individuals from our community, and a way for the Brooklyn Schools to say thank you to our senior citizens. The High School performance of Willy Wonka continues on Friday, March 8th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 9th at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thank you to everyone involved.
