Classroom guidance is an opportunity to meet with each classroom in a large setting to focus specifically on a character building traits. While academics are the primary focus of any educational setting, we know all to well the importance of the social and emotional learning that is necessary for our students to succeed and to be lifelong learners. Therefore lessons are carefully crafted to meet this endeavor. For information related to the specific lessons, please do not hesitate to call and ask.
Lessons will be held regularly for grades K-3 and we will be using a program known as Second Step. It aligns with our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program (RISE). This program was implemented over the last several school years. The idea behind it goes hand in hand with what educators do. When a student does not know how to read we teach them, when they do not know their math facts, we teach them when they misbehave, so too MUST we teach them what is appropriate and acceptable behaviors.
