Here are some back to school pointer/reminders:
- Being in school everyday is so very important. If possible scheduling appointments and trips outside of the school day will truly benefit your child. Let them know that he/she can only be absent if sick and or there is a family emergency.
- Children who are well nourished and get enough rest each night tend to do better in school. Developing a routine of eating breakfast/lunch/dinner as well as a set bedtime can and will do wonders! If you need help in this process, please don't hesitate to ask.
- Celebrate their progress every day!!! Create a box or keep a journal where they write down their successes/accomplishments each and everyday. On those days that they may struggle, read and review those slips together.
- Go through your child's book bag nightly and stay in contact with their teacher. Have regular conversations about school. Ask things like:
"What did you learn that you would like to learn more about?
"What was the coolest part of your day?"
"What wasn't so cool?"
"What made you laugh?"
"What was the most creative thing you did?
"How did you "RISE" to mee the days challenges today? Was anyone especially kind to you?"
Please visit regularly & often for more helpful tips throughout the school year!!!
