Principal's Message

The school year is off to a great start!  Please utilize ProgressBook to monitor your student's progress.  It is a good time to remind parents and students that only report cards will be sent home with students this school year, but with ProgressBook, grades, assignments and comments can be viewed at any time.  It is also a great time to remind parents that October 1st will be a late arrival day and October 24th will be an early dismissal day.  Complete schedules will be available on the high school web page.

Please join us for a number of important events this October.  Homecoming activities will take place the week of October 6th, with the homecoming game on Friday, October 10th and the dance on Saturday, October 11th.  A meeting for all seniors and their parents will take place on Wednesday, October 8th at 6:00 P.M. in the auditorium. Parent/teacher conferences will be on Thursday, October 16th.  For more details regarding these events, please refer to the September newsletter posted on our web page.

As the fall sports season winds down, we would like to recognize our senior student-athletes and their parents at the following events: October 4th, girls’ soccer, October 7th, boys’ soccer, October 9th, volleyball, and October 17th, football, cheerleading, golf, band, choir and hurricettes.  Please join us in thanking our senior student-athletes for their leadership and dedication over the past four years.

October is also an important testing month. The PSAT/NMSQT will be given at Brooklyn High School for any interested junior or honors sophomore student.  The date of the test is Wednesday, October 15th.  Juniors and seniors needing to pass any part of the OGT will be testing the week of October 27th.  Information regarding both of these tests can be found in the latest newsletter or by contacting the guidance office.

If you have any questions, please contact my office at 216-485-8163.  I look forward to seeing you at one of our many upcoming events.  Go Canes!
