Brooklyn School Hosts Family Literacy Night

Brooklyn School Literacy Night

Hundreds of family members turned out in support of the annual Family Literacy Night at Brooklyn School on Thursday, February 20, 2020. This year’s theme that “It’s a Jungle Out There! Read to Survive!” came alive during the evening’s fun and educational learning opportunities, as activities were creatively named to involve literacy and safari elements, such as Elephant & Piggie Puppets and Slithery Snake Bookmarks. Students escorted their families to a handful of classrooms that featured these activities and literacy fun. Jungle Terry, the famed local animal handler, then entertained everyone who attended with his live demonstrations. A free book pick up was extended to everyone who participated in the event to promote reading with the encouragement from the adult figures in our children’s lives. A special thank you goes out to the PTA who provided pizza and beverages in the cafeteria prior to the literacy activities. Congratulations to everyone who made this year’s Family Literacy Night so successful!
