On Thursday, June 9th, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the Schools event was hosted inside Brooklyn High School Room 173. The program featured a presentation by Superintendent Dr. Theodore Caleris which provided the school community an update on the Hurricane Strategic Planning Process, various strategic priorities for the district, and new programming anticipated for the 2022-23 school year. Community members also received important updates related to district finances and operations, including the Spring 2022 Financial Forecast. The forum also provided an opportunity for members of the school community to engage with Superintendent Caleris, Treasurer Colleen Aholt, and building administration. The Brooklyn City Schools community can learn more by downloading a digital copy of the State of the Schools presentation.
The State of the Schools program also featured a presentation of this year’s Chamber Scholarship award winners by President Jessica Cliff. Congratulations to Brooklyn High School Class of 2022 graduates Josef Ethridge & Daylun Armstrong on their scholarship awards! Thank you to all attendees and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce for their continued support of the Brooklyn City Schools.
