Strategic Plan

At the Tuesday, February 20, 2019, Brooklyn Board of Education meeting, the Board of education unanimously approved the 5 years Brooklyn City Schools' strategic plan. The plan centers around a new vision for the district along with a new mission and new beliefs.

•By 2023, the Brooklyn City School District will be the school district of choice where academic success is fostered by community collaboration and diverse educational opportunities.

•We encourage. We prepare. We empower.

We believe:

•In promoting consistent accountability where achievements are celebrated and consequences are seen as learning opportunities.

•In open, honest and consistent communication between stakeholders to promote trust.

•All students deserve an environment that appreciates, welcomes and respects diversity.

•In providing engaging and diverse learning opportunities.

•In high expectations encourage high achievement that fosters lifelong learning.

•Each person brings unique talents and qualities to our schools.

•That education is the shared responsibility of the family, school, and community which benefits student development.

•Everyone should feel both emotionally and physically safe.

•Every student and staff member has the opportunity to succeed.

•In a consistent, clearly defined direction for the entire school district.

•In a welcoming, caring atmosphere for all (faculty, staff, students, visitors)

•Students should have a variety of educational choices to prepare for life.

In addition, we have created 5 focus areas that highlight the district commitment to achieving this mission and vision. Please see the slideshow below for more information.
