Brooklyn 8th Grade student Colin Schillinger has been selected as a 2017 Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar. Colin was one of 50 students from across the country chosen to receive this award from an applicant pool of 2100 students. Students who receive this award are evaluated on a student essay, extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, grades, and financial needs. As a recipient of this scholarship, Colin will receive intensive academic advising and financial support for carefully selected enrichment opportunities that will prepare him to maximize his academic opportunities in preparation for some of the most highly selective universities in the country.
