PreK Students Enjoy Art Activity with Grandparents

Monet and Me Activity

PreK students at Brooklyn School enjoyed a special art activity with grandparents and grand-friends on Thursday, April 18, 2019, courtesy of The Children’s Museum of Cleveland (CMC).  Titled Monet and Me, the hands-on activity introduced students to renowned painter Claude Monet and one of his most famous artworks, “Water Lily Pond.”  Students first viewed a sample of the artwork and then listened to a children’s story, Katie and the Water Lily Pond by James Mayhew.  With the assistance of their grandparent or grand-friend, students then created their own version of “Water Lily Pond” applying their understanding of primary and secondary colors.  Thank you to the PreK team at Brooklyn School and The Children’s Museum of Cleveland for coordinating a memorable learning experience for our youngest students.
