Congratulations Brooklyn High School Class of 2019

The Brooklyn High School graduating Class of 2019 participated in the Eighty-Sixth annual Commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 2, 2019, before a full capacity in the District’s auditorium. The approximately 100 Hurricane graduates proudly assumed their position at center stage while being welcomed by the melodic introductory music performed by the Brooklyn High School Wind Ensemble and remarks from High School Principal Bill Wingler and Superintendent Dr. Mark Gleichauf. Seniors Ruth Sasso and Karli Verchio inspired their graduating peers with words of reflection and thoughts about the future. The Top Ten for the Class of 2019 includes Deandrea Barkley, Jr., Anthony Giordano, Aaliyah Gross, Liseth Guzman, Destinee McHue, Asmaa Rahmy, Ruth Sasso, Cathyna Tong, Karli Verchio, Reanna Verian and Abigail Zonza. Members of the Class of 2019 who scored higher than a “30” on their respective ACT exams include Anthony Girodano and Nicholas Sopko. A variety of local scholarships and awards were offered to the Class of 2019 as well, and the District thanks those organizations for supporting our Brooklyn students. The Brooklyn City Schools offers a sincere congratulations to the departing Class of 2019, thanks them for their fine work and wishes them well in future endeavors.
