BHS Key Club Helps Spread Kindness Through Start with Hello Campaign

BHS Key Club Members

Members of the Brooklyn High School Key Club took the opportunity to promote kindness and inclusion as part of the Start with Hello campaign on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, through a variety of meaningful activities.  To show their support for the campaign, students and staff across the entire District were encouraged to participate in a “green out” by wearing green clothing.  At the start of the school day, Key Club members greeted Brooklyn School students and handed out free candy suckers.  Key Club members also visited each K-7 classroom and lunch period to provide students the opportunity to sign a green-colored “I Pledge to be Kind” banner as a demonstration of their commitment to helping everyone feel welcome and included.  The Start with Hello campaign is sponsored by Sandy Hook Promise, a national non-profit organization dedicated to creating a culture that is engaged in preventing school violence.  Thank you to the BHS Key Club for encouraging kindness, inclusion and empathy in the Brooklyn City Schools!
