Key Club Visits Brooklyn Senior Community Center

BHS Key Club at Senior Center

Six student representatives from the Brooklyn High School Key Club visited the Brooklyn Senior Community Center on Thursday, November 7, 2019, to share about the mission of the Key Club and spend time getting to know local senior citizens.  The Brooklyn Key Club boasts a membership of forty students and regularly engages in community service projects and initiatives. Approximately thirty senior citizens attended the Community Center’s weekly Thursday luncheon.  During the visit, students along with Principal Bill Winger joined the entire luncheon crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Luke, who celebrated his 91st birthday!  Key Club members helped with serving cake and Honey Hut Ice Cream and took time to enjoy the birthday treats with Senior Center members.  The Key Club’s visit to the Senior Center highlights the Brooklyn City Schools’ commitment to strengthening partnerships with the greater community.  On behalf of the District, thank you to all who participated.
