    In response to the coronavirus outbreak, the Brooklyn City School District will remain closed now through the end of the 2019-2020 school year per Governor DeWine’s order. 8th Grader Desiree Gailes Wins 4th Annual Spelling Bee

2019 Spelling Bee Winner Desiree Gailes

Congratulations to 8th grade student Desiree Gailes on winning the 4th Annual Brooklyn Schools Spelling Bee!  The competition was held in the Auditorium on Tuesday, November 26th and featured several guest judges from the City of Brooklyn, including Mayor Katie Gallagher, Fire Chief Kevin Paul and Police Chief Scott Mielke.  Superintendent Mark Gleichauf served as moderator for the event which was attended by students, teachers and parents.  The Brooklyn City Schools congratulate Desiree Gailes on her successful spelling and wish her continued success in the Northeast Ohio Regional competition!
