Brooklyn Board of Education Elects New Leadership

At Tuesday’s Brooklyn Board of Education Organizational Meeting for 2020, the Board of Education elected new leadership. Mrs. Bonnie Bartczak was elected as President of the Board for 2020. Mrs. Bartczak has served 10 ½ years on the Board of Education and has served as Vice President for the past several years. She has also served on the Board Student Achievement Committee, the Board Policy Committee, and has been the Board of Education representative for the strategic plan Teaching and Learning area. Additionally, she has served as the Board of Education representative on the Domestic Abuse Board for the City of Brooklyn. Her varied roles will serve her well in this leadership role with the Board of Education.

Additionally, Mr. Rick Cyngier has been elected as Board of Education Vice President. Mr. Cyngier, who has served on the Board of Education for 10 years, has been very involved with District finances, having served on the Board Finance Committee and the Strategic Plan Finance and Facilities area. Both Mr. Cyngier and Mrs. Bartczak have been strong supporters of our Brooklyn students and providing them the opportunities for success.

The entire Board of Education is excited about getting 2020 underway and is in good hands with this experienced leadership.
