BHS Students Leaving Artistic Impression on School Campus with New Murals Class

Hurricane Logo Art Installation

Students at Brooklyn High School are using their creative talents to help beautify and instill Hurricane Pride throughout the building thanks to a Murals class introduced at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.  The semester long class is taught by instructor Chris Kaspar who created the class after taking a similar course for professional recertification.  Currently, there are fourteen students enrolled in the class which gives students the opportunity to work in teams to create artwork to be enjoyed by the entire school population.  To date, ten permanent murals along with a series of rotating bulletin boards have been installed in various locations throughout the building.  The students take a great deal of pride in knowing that their artistry serves to enhance the classrooms, hallways and offices throughout the school.  In the future, Mr. Kaspar seeks to provide the students the opportunity to apply their talents to the community-at-large with a mural in the City of Brooklyn.  The Brooklyn City Schools would like to thank all participating students for using their impressive artistic gifts to create an enhanced and inspiring environment for students and staff.
