Brooklyn Schools Host Finance Forum

Buzzsaw

The Brooklyn City Schools hosted an informative Finance Forum during the evening on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the High School Auditorium.  Parents and community members were given the opportunity to learn more about recent student successes and academic improvements achieved by the District.  Led by Superintendent Dr. Mark Gleichauf, the presentation also included examples of how the Brooklyn City Schools had utilized funds provided by the community through the passage of two levies in 2019, Issue 1 and Issue 2, with enhanced safety and security measures, additional instructional classroom technology, maintenance of District facilities and preservation of various co-curricular opportunities for students.  The Finance Forum also featured a detailed overview of Issue 25, a NO NEW TAXES Renewal Levy on the March 17th Primary Ballot, and how passage of Issue 25 will provide continued funding of vital District operations, including technology, instructional materials, athletics and co-curricular activities.  After the presentation, those in attendance had the opportunity to ask questions and sign up for various aspects of the Support Our Schools levy campaign committee.  A second Finance Forum will be held on Wednesday, March 4th at Brooklyn Community Acres.  Thank you for your continued support of the Brooklyn City Schools.
