At the May 28th Brooklyn Board of Education meeting, the board voted 4-0 (Mr. Jim Oper was not present) to appoint Dr.Theodore Caleris as the new superintendent of the Brooklyn City Schools. Dr. Caleris is no stranger to the Brooklyn Schools having spent several years in the district as a science teacher, athletic director, and a principal in Brooklyn. He returns to Brooklyn after spending time in the Sandusky City Schools and most recently he served as the assistant superintendent of Cuyahoga Heights Schools. Brooklyn City Schools would like to welcome Dr. Caleris back to the district.
