Brooklyn City Schools is proud to recognize the newest members of the Brooklyn School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Each 7th grade inductee was evaluated based on their high level of academic achievement, co-curricular and extra-curricular involvement, demonstration of leadership both within and outside the classroom, as well as strong character. To apply for membership, students must have a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher and pass an evaluation of their 1st and 2nd quarter grades as a 6th grade student. Students then fill out an application listing their awards and accomplishments, as well as compose a personal essay expressing why becoming a National Junior Honor Society member is important to them. During a typical school year, NJHS members are responsible for morning announcements and helping with various school activities, such as the book fair, elf shop and field day.
