2nd grade students in room 240 are celebrating the return of in-person learning on Wednesdays with TEAMS lessons created by their classroom teacher, Mrs. Sue Grodek. TEAMS (Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Science) lessons take place each Wednesday and involve a wide variety of engaging lessons throughout the school day. For technology, students can choose from a menu of several exciting activities, which sometimes makes for a difficult decision on which fun activity to pursue! So far, engineering appears to be the class favorite! Mrs. Grodek’s future engineers have the opportunity to test their spatial awareness with a partner and construct objects using various materials. Students are also excited to engage in arts related activities as they await the start of art classes in the fourth grading quarter. Last week, students were able to take advantage of the warmer weather to fill the sidewalk with artwork featuring positive messages using sidewalk chalk. During math time, students play games that help to strengthen their addition and subtraction fluency. The first science unit is all about weather and provides a great opportunity to study the ever-changing springtime weather in Northeast Ohio. Mrs. Grodek and her students are excited to spend Wednesdays together once again and look forward to more TEAMS activities in the future!
