Brooklyn City Schools Shows Appreciation for Veterans

Brooklyn School Veterans Day 2021 Assembly

The students and staff of the Brooklyn City Schools took the opportunity to show their appreciation for all veterans who have sacrificed for our country in several meaningful ways in observance of Veterans Day. On November 5, 2021, High School Principal Brian Hare attended a special pinning ceremony at the Brooklyn Senior Center and delivered letters of gratitude hand-written by students to local veterans. At Brooklyn School, members of the Veterans Committee and Junior National Honors Society organized and led a special Veterans Day Recognition assembly that was attended by the entire building on Thursday, November 11th. Veterans from each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces were recognized as well as all missing soldiers. Prior to the event, Brooklyn School families submitted pictures of loved ones who have served or are currently serving in the military. Students placed the photos inside handmade stars and hung them around the building. The Brooklyn City Schools proudly thank all individuals who have served our country for their service and sacrifice.
