Brooklyn City Schools Hosts 2nd Annual Community Town Hall

Treasurer Colleen Aholt provides an update on the district's fiscal situation at the 2nd Annual Hurricane Town Hall

As part of a strategic and ongoing focus to keep all stakeholders informed with the latest district news and updates, the Brooklyn City Schools hosted its 2nd Annual Community Town Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6th,  in the Brooklyn Community Room, and online via livestream on the district’s YouTube channel. Building administrators, staff, parents, representatives from the Board of Education and Brooklyn City Council, as well as community members were in attendance. The presentation featured updates from Superintendent Dr. Ted Caleris on the Hurricane Strategic Planning process, examples of innovative programming currently offered to students, an overview of new educational programming anticipated for the 22-23 school year, student and family supports, and a summary of the results for the facility study conducted in the fall of 2021. District Treasurer Colleen Aholt delivered remarks on the November 2021 5-Year Forecast and a summary of the district’s current levy cycle. The presentation concluded with an opportunity for those in attendance to engage with the Superintendent and Treasurer in Question-and-Answer session.
