Principal Cicco Receives Donation from First Book and ROSS Stores

Students at Brooklyn School will have the opportunity to enjoy $2,500 worth of brand-new books thanks to the generosity of the newest member of the City of Brooklyn’s business community, ROSS Stores.  The donated books will be given to Brooklyn School through the First Book Marketplace, operated by First Book, a non-profit social enterprise aimed at providing books and educational resources to schools serving children in under-resourced areas to help provide educational equity.  On Saturday, March 7th, Brooklyn School Principal Cristin Cicco attended a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony at the new ROSS Stores location in the Ridge Park Square plaza.  During the ceremony, Principal Cicco was presented with a check representing the $2,500 donation from ROSS Stores in partnership with First Book.  Public dignitaries from the City of Brooklyn, including Mayor Katie Gallagher were in attendance.  The Brooklyn City Schools would like to thank ROSS Stores and First Book for their generous donation of new books for our students to read and enjoy in the years to come!
