Brooklyn voters approved Issue 25, the District’s 2.2 mill renewal levy, on April 28, 2020 by a vote margin of 1,022 (65%) FOR to 542 (35%) AGAINST. On behalf of the Brooklyn City Schools and the Support Our Schools Committee, thank you to the entire community, staff and individual volunteers for your support and tireless efforts on behalf of Issue 25. Despite limitations due to the extended school closure, supporters of Issue 25 remained focused and active in voter outreach efforts such as social media messaging. The dedication and collective support of the entire Brooklyn City Schools community helped to secure passage of Issue 25 which will maintain funding of vital operations and services of the District. As a result, students in the Brooklyn City Schools will continue to have access to academic and extra-curricular opportunities that help to encourage, prepare and empower them for successful futures. Thank you, once again, to the entire community for your continued support of the Brooklyn City Schools. Go Hurricanes!
